Saturday 2025 September 27
We hope you can join members of the stake for a hike up Rock Canyon on Saturday morning, 2025 September 27. We will be heading up the trail starting at 07:00 (am). Rock Canyon is a family friendly hiking path, with options for individuals of all hiking levels. You can venture as far as you like and then turn around and head back to the parking area. Those with more energy and time are welcome to join a group who will head to the top of Kyhv Peak (formerly known as Squaw Peak). All you need to bring is a water bottle, some trail snacks, and a pair of comfortable walking shoes. Most of the trail has lots of shade and fall colors are just beginning to show. Those hoping to summit Kyhv Peak will need between 1-2 quarts of water, depending upon the temperature, and enough food for a round trip of about 4-5 hours.
The trailhead is located immediately east of the intersection of 2300 N and 1450 E in Provo, east of the old Provo Temple now being reconstructed as the Provo Utah Rock Canyon Temple. Here is a link to the trailhead location.
Parking at the trailhead can fill up early on Saturdays. Hopefully 07:00 (am) is early enough to find sufficient parking for everyone. But if not, then overflow parking is available at the east end of Rock Canyon Park (not to be confused with the Rock Canyon Trailhead). The overflow parking is at the far east end of the park. It is a short walk from there to the trailhead. You can get to this overflow parking area by following Iroquois Drive north, then turning right on 2620 N and continuing east to Foothill Drive. Take a right on Foothill Drive and follow it to the parking area at the end of the road. You will see a gravel road blocked by boulders at the south end of the parking lot. After parking, walk past the boulders and then take the trail immediately on your left just before you get to the volleyball courts. That trail will take you to the Rock Canyon trailhead. Here is a link to the overflow parking location.
We will have a table at the trailhead with maps and an activity for children that encourages them to watch for landmarks along the trail. Children who participate in the landmark hunt will be rewarded with a special treat when they return to the trailhead.
Please get this on your calendar and plan for a fun morning as we hike a beautiful canyon with friends and neighbors! Contact Steve Baxter (801-636-1229) if you have any questions.

(This activity has been postponed until further notice)
---------
Everyone in the ward and neighborhood is invited to join us for a night of service.
During the activity we will be participating in a variety of service projects and we will also be creating a collaborative art mosaic to visualize how our individual acts of service add up in a 1,000 acts of service challenge. Between Wednesday 2025 August 27 (our youth fundraiser dinner night) and 2025 September 15 (our Ward service activity night), we challenge all ward members to do as many acts of service as possible. During the activity each member will write down their individual acts of service and add one mosaic piece to the poster to represent each individual act of service. When put together all those individual acts of service will create something marvelous. If you do other service on your own, let Lisa know and you will be included in the mosaic.
Any questions can be directed to Lisa Paul (818-941-8733 or moroni107@gmail.com).
Also, please collect your plastic grocery/shopping bags to be used for a sleeping mat service project. Bring to the Sep 10th activity or you can drop them off to Lisa Paul or she can swing by and pick them up at you convenience.
A fun and meaningful stake youth activity for 2025 September 10 at 18:00 (6pm). This will include dinner and we will also be incorporating the youth music festival into the evening.
As we all know, President Nelson always, and our stake presidency in the recent conference, have encouraged members to attend the Temple, as often as possible, especially for our ancestors.
We are excited to announce that the next ward temple trip will be September 24 for the 14:00 (2:00pm) session. We encourage you to begin making appointments now.
