A weekly Gathering Place for YSAs in Springville has been established and we ask that you extend a personal invitation to all graduating seniors and all other YSAs in your ward boundary to attend the Gathering Place.
A Gathering Place is a space where young single adults can participate in uplifting activities and experiences that strengthen connections with one another and with the Lord. For now, it consists of Institute classes and a dinner every Thursday night. The Gathering Place is held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on 50 N Main Street in Springville. For more information about gathering places for young single adults please refer to the following website:

How to Flush Your Water
You probably have a gas water heater--in this area most are. The only difference between flushing a gas or electric water heater is that for one you turn off the gas, for the other you turn off the electricity in the breaker box.
Here are the easy steps to flushing your water heater (assuming a gas water heater):
1. Turn the thermostat to off or Pilot. The former feels safer, the latter is easier to restart. If you turn it off, also turn the gas intake valve to off. Don’t do this if you turn it to just pilot.
2. Turn off the cold water supply. That’s the cold pipe, not the hot one--the easy way to tell which is which is just by touching them.
3. Turn on the hot water in a sink or tub. You will leave this on for the entire process.
4. Connect a garden hose to the drainage spigot and make sure the other end leads outside or into a drain. If neither is available, drain into a plastic tub or bucket.
5. Turn on the drainage spigot and let the tank drain until the water runs clear free of sediment. If the tank is bad, you need to drain it completely. If not, you might only need to drain for a few minutes.
6. Flush the heater by turning on the cold water that you turned off earlier. Let it run for a few minutes until there is little or no sediment showing in the water.
7. Once you feel the water is running clean, then it’s time to button up.
8. Turn off the drainage spigot and disconnect the hose.
9. Turn off the hot water where you turned it on at the beginning.
10. Turn on the cold water spigot leading to your hot water heater.
11. Turn on the hot water spigot of a sink or tub to get the air out of the system. Turn it off.
12. If you shut off the gas to your hot water heater, turn it back on. And then re-light the pilot light. If you have an electric hot water heater, flip the breaker switch on your electrical panel that gives power to your hot water heater.
It should take about twenty minutes for the water to heat up. Then check that it’s working. Keep in mind, each time you turn on a new sink or shower or tub, it will spit out air and stuff for a bit.
