A weekly Gathering Place for YSAs in Springville has been established and we ask that you extend a personal invitation to all graduating seniors and all other YSAs in your ward boundary to attend the Gathering Place.
A Gathering Place is a space where young single adults can participate in uplifting activities and experiences that strengthen connections with one another and with the Lord. For now, it consists of Institute classes and a dinner every Thursday night. The Gathering Place is held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on 50 N Main Street in Springville. For more information about gathering places for young single adults please refer to the following website:

Burgers for the Fourth
The Fourth of July is coming in a few days. And, as someone who has been on a lifelong quest for the world’s best cheeseburger, I have learned a thing or two about what makes a good burger. But I went to the experts on this, because while I may be an expert eater of burgers, I am not an expert maker.
Here is what the experts say:
Use 80/20 ground beef for the juiciest result, because the fat keeps the patties flavorful and moist on the grill. Form patties gently, make them a bit wider than the bun, and press a shallow thumbprint into the center so they cook evenly instead of puffing up. Keep the meat cold until shaping and don’t overmix it.
For a classic backyard burger, salt and black pepper right before grilling is the move. If you want a little more diner-style depth, add a light sprinkle of garlic powder or onion powder, but don’t bury the beef flavor. Avoid mixing in too many extras unless you’re intentionally making a flavored burger.
Preheat the grill to medium-high, around 400 to 500 degrees, and make sure the grates are clean and lightly oiled. Put the burgers over direct heat and let them sear without pressing them down, because pressing squeezes out the juices. A typical 1/4-pound burger takes about 3 to 4 minutes per side, while thicker patties can take a minute longer.
If you want cheese, add it for the last minute so it melts cleanly without overcooking the patty. Tradition calls for sliced cheddar or American cheese. I personally like variety in my cheese and have found Colby Jack, Monterey Jack, Pepper Jack, Swiss, Gouda, or Tilsiter are all good.
Let the burgers rest briefly after grilling so the juices settle back into the meat.
Toast the buns with butter for a little extra flavor and to keep them from getting soggy.
For toppings, go for what makes you happy. The standards of lettuce, tomato, onion (grilled or raw), and pickles are good, with ketchup and mustard. I prefer Fry Sauce, grilled onions, tomato, lettuce, no pickles, and mayo.
